New Testament Fulfillment in Blue            Old Testament Scripture Predictions in Green

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in the Prophets: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight. John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Mark 1:1-4  Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. and the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming, Says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:1 and The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Isaiah 40:3

But Simon's wife's mother lay sick with a fever, and they told Him about her at once. So He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up, and immediately the fever left her. And she served them. At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were [evil spirit-possessed]. And the whole city was gathered together at the door. Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. When they found Him, they said to Him, Everyone is looking for You. But He said to them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth. Mark 1:30-38  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; Isaiah 61:1

But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn And their sins be forgiven them. Mark 4:10-12  And He said, Go, and tell this people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive. Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, And shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed. Isaiah 6:9-10

He answered and said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of Me. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men-the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do. Mark 7:6-8  Therefore the Lord said: Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men, Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden. Isaiah 29:13-14

And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men. Mark 8:31-33  and For He taught His disciples and said to them, The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise the third day.  But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him. Mark 9:31-32  and Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles; and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. and the third day He will rise again. Mark 10:33-34  Fulfilled in the New Testament: You have heard the blasphemy! what do you think? and they all condemned Him to be deserving of death. Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, Prophesy! and the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands. Mark 14:64-65  and And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed his last. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, Truly this Man was the Son of God! Mark 15:37-39 and Later [Jesus] appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And [Jesus] said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16: 14-15

And [Jesus] said to them, Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it.  and if anyone says to you, Why are you doing this? say, the Lord has need of it, and immediately he will send it here. Mark 11:2-3  It was fulfilled in the New Testament: so they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. But some of those who stood there said to them, What are you doing loosing the colt? and they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. and many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David That comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest! Mark 11:4-10  First Predicted in the Old Testament: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 and Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord. Psalm 118:26

Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said, Assuredly, I say to you, one of you who eats with me will betray Me. And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, Is it I? He answered and said to them, It is one of the twelve, who dips with Me in the dish. The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed!  It would have been good for that man if he had never been born. Mark 14:18-21  It is Fulfilled in the New Testament: Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand. And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now His betrayer had given them a signal, saying, Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him and lead Him away safely. As soon as he had come, immediately he went up to Him and said to Him, Rabbi, Rabbi! and kissed Him. Then they laid their hands on [Jesus] and took Him. Mark 14:42-46 First Predicted in the Old Testament: Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. proverbs 27:6 and Those also who seek My life lay snares for me; Those who seek My hurt speak of destruction, and plan deception all the day long. Psalms 38:12

Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered. But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee. Mark 14:27-28  Awake, O sword, against My Companion, Says the Lord of Hosts. Strke the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered; Then i will turn My hand against the little ones. Zechariah 13:7 Fulfilled in the New Testament: Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate marveled that [Jesus] was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.  Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid. Mark 15:43-47 and Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away-for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. But go, tell His disciples-and Peter-that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you. Mark 16: 1-7 and Later [Jesus] appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:14-15

Peter said to Him, Even if all are made to stumble, yet I will not be. Jesus said to him, Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times. But he spoke more vehemently, If I have to die with You, I will not deny You! And they all said likewise. Mark 14:29-31  It was fulfilled in the New Testament: Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came. And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, You also were with Jesus of Nazareth. But he denied it, saying, I neither know nor understand what you are saying. And he went out on the porch, and a rooster crowed. And the servant girl saw him again, and began to say to those who stood by, This is one of them. But he denied it again. And a little later those who stood by said to Peter again, Surely you are one of the them; for you are a Galilean, and your speech shows it. Then he began to curse and swear, I do not know this Man of whom you speak! A second time the rooster crowed. Then Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times. And when he thought about it, he wept. Mark 14:66-72

So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them: and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified. Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall called Praetorium, and they called together the whole garrison. And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head, and began to salute Him, Hail, King of the Jews! Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they worshiped Him. And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him. Mark 15:15-20  I gave My back to those who struck Me, and My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting. Isaiah 50:6 and But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

And when they crucified him, they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take. Mark 15:24 They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots. Psalm 22:18

With Him they also crucified two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left. So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, And He was numbered with the transgressors. Mark 15:27-28  Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12

Now when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is translated, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Mark 15:33-34  My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning? Psalm 22:1
