But the angel said to him, Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:13-17  Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. Malachi 4:5-6  And all those who heard them kept them in their hearts, saying, What kind of child will this be? And the hand of the Lord was with him. Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people, And has raised up a horn of salvation for us In the house of His servant David. As He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, Who have been since the world began. Luke 1:66-70 There I will make the horn of David grow; I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed. Luke 1:76-79 Fulfilled in the New Testament: While Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he went into the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight. Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth;  And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Luke 3:2-6

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women! But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. Then Mary said tot the angel, How can this be, since I do not know a man? And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Luke 1:26-35  For unto us a Child is born. Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. Isaiah 9:6 Fulfilled in the New Testament: So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. Then the angel said to [the shepherds], Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you, You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of heavenly host praising God and saying: Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men! Isaiah 7:14  Fulfilled in the New Testament: So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. Luke 2:15-18

Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: He shall give His angels charge over You to keep You, and, In their hands they shall bear You up, lest you dash Your food against a stone. And Jesus answered and said to him, It has been said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God. Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until and opportune time. Luke 4:9-13 For He shall give His angels charge over You, To keep You in all Your ways. In their hands they shall bear You up, Lest You dash Your foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11-12

And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. And He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor: He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed: To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. Luke 4:15-21  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tiding to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our Go; To comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61:1-2

When the men had come to Him, they said, John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another? And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight. Jesus answered and said to them, Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. and bless is he who is not offended because of Me. Luke 7:20-23  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me to preach good tiding to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Isaiah 61:1-3

This is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You. For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist, but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. Luke 7:27-28  Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming, Says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:1

And He said, To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that Seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. Make the heart of this people dull, And their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed. Who is the one who struck You? And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him. [Additionally, this portion in the New Testament, also fulfilled the scriptures.] Then they all said, Are You then the son of God? So He said to them, You rightly say that I am. And they said, what further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth. Luke 22:70-71 [Further more...] Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, Father, into your hands I commit My spirit. Having said this, He breathed His last. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous Man! Luke 23:45-47 [Jesus' burial in the tomb.] And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered His words. Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. Luke 24:1-9

Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the son of Man will be accomplished. And the third day he will rise again. But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken. Luke 23:34-35 [The Scripture from the Old Testament that was fulfilled.] All those who see Me ridicule me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, he trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since he delights in Him! Psalm 22:7-8

When He had said this, He went on ahead going up to Jerusalem. and it came to pass, when he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples, saying, Goo into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a cold tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here. and if anyone asks you, Why are you loosing it? thus you shall say to him, Because the lord has need of it. Luke 19:28-31 [This portion in black was the fulfilling of this in the New Testament.] So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them. But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, what are you loosing the colt? And they said, the Lord has need of him. Then, they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and thy set Jesus on him. And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road. Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest! Luke 19:32-38  [This is the Old Testament Scripture that was fulfilled.] Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Then Satan entered Judas, surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered among the twelve. So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray Him to them. But [Peter] said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You, both to prison and to death. Psalm 41:9 [This portion in black was fulfilled in the New Testament.] And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them for the do not know what they do. And they divided His garments and cast lots.  Luke 23:32-34 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And he shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, and he was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12
