I was disappointed to hear that a major way people, including some science teachers, dissuade others from believing in Christ, is to say that the Bible is full of inconsistencies, which they call lies. Additionally, they say that God’s creation of the world is not consistent with Scientific Principles, but are either of these claims true?
In this Biblical Research Project, I am going to use the New King James Version [NKJV] of the Bible and secondary data from internet resources, as needed. Sometimes, Bible verses have both the word ‘he’ and the word ‘him’ within the same sentence. I will put who is speaking and who is being spoken to within brackets any time I feel it isn’t clear by the context of the passage. As I analyze the research I gather, I will put my analysis, evaluation, opinions, and comments within brackets, as well, to let you know when I am sharing this information.]
I will often refer to “God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit’s Creation, because there are some who believe in creation of the world, but connect it to a false god. Additionally, upon any reference of God, it should be understood that I am referring to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, not some false god.

Four Ways the Earth Is Fine-Tuned for Life

“The foundational, regional and locational conditions of our universe, solar system and planet are delicately balanced and finely calibrated. The slightest modification of these conditions would be disastrous for life. The delicate requirements for the existence of galaxies, star systems, and planets capable of supporting “intelligent observers” are incredibly fragile.”
“Our tiny planet also exhibits locational properties of fine-tuning necessary for life. Earth’s local conditions exhibit an array of equally unlikely characteristics that give us reason to be “suspicious.” Here are just four of the many ways our planet is fine-tuned for life:
The Earth’s Relationship to the Sun Is Favorable to Life:
Earth orbits the sun within a tight “habitable zone” that is highly statistically unlikely for a planet. If Earth were very slightly more distant from—or slightly closer to—the sun, a stable water cycle would be impossible. Also, small changes in the orbital tilt of our planet, or minor variations in the tilt of Earth’s axis, would disallow our climate. The length of rotation matters, too. If Earth had a slower one, our days would be too hot and our nights too cool to support life; shorter, and the wind speeds would be too extreme.
The Earth’s Atmospheric Conditions Are Favorable to Life:
The surface gravity of Earth is critical to its ability to retain an atmosphere friendly to life. If Earth’s gravity were stronger, our atmosphere would contain too much methane and ammonia. If our planet’s gravity were weaker, Earth wouldn’t be able to retain enough water. As it is, Earth’s atmosphere has a finely calibrated ratio of oxygen to nitrogen—just enough carbon dioxide and adequate water vapor levels to promote advanced life, allow photosynthesis (without an excessive greenhouse effect), and to allow for sufficient rainfall.
The Earth’s Terrestrial Nature Is Favorable to Life:
Earth’s crust thickness must lie within a particular range in order to support life. A thicker crust would negatively impact the quantity of oxygen in our atmosphere; a thinner crust would result in excessive volcanic activity and unstable tectonic plates. In fact, Earth’s crust allows limited seismic activity, resulting in nutrient recycling and carbon dioxide release without destroying all life on the planet. The nutrient and mineral concentrations of Earth’s crust also fall within life-permitting ranges.
The Earth’s Relationship to the Moon Is Favorable to Life:
While other planets have an orbiting moon; ours is critical to our existence. Our large Moon is just the right size to stabilize Earth’s orbit and rotation, limiting the variations in our climate and temperature. Without a large moon, the axis of our planet would likely have wobbled dramatically—perhaps by as much as 90 degrees. The role of the Moon cannot be underestimated. Astronomer Donald Brownlee and paleontologist Peter Ward write, “Without the Moon there would be no moonbeams, no month, no lunacy, no Apollo program, less poetry, and a world where every night was dark and gloomy. Without the Moon it is also likely that no birds, redwoods, whales, trilobite, or other advanced life would ever grace the earth.”
Those who seek to explain this fine-tuning without invoking the existence of a Fine-Tuner, either (1) deny the need for fine-tuning related to the emergence of life, (2) argue fine-tuning is the result of chance or physical necessity, or (3) try to explain fine-tuning as a simple “observational phenomenon”. In God’s Crime Scene, I demonstrate (in detail) why these naturalistic explanations fail to account for the evidence. The appearance of fine-tuning in the universe is part of an overwhelming cumulative case for the existence of God. Intelligent Design by a Benevolent Creator: God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
E. Theo Agard, 1993 elected to the national board of directors of the Health Physics Society states: “Another problem, as I see it, for the noncreationist is the first law of thermodynamics which affirms the natural process of energy conservation. Energy cannot be created or destroyed by natural processes, but can only be converted from one form to another. Since matter is a form of energy (E=mc2 as stated by Einstein), natural sciences cannot account for the total energy, including matter, in the universe. This law consequently implies a role for the supernatural in the origin of the total energy in the universe.”
Prof. Edward A. Boudreaux states: “My own fields of specialization are in the areas of theoretical inorganic chemistry and chemical physics. Both of these areas are reasonably immune to the contaminations of evolution. But, once my interest had been aroused sufficiently to study the evolution literature, I also became aware of unique features among chemical properties of specific elements. These characteristics are clearly a reflection of created design.”
After years of accepting evolution theories, Dr. James Allan, Geneticist, changed his view: “I began to look more critically at the assumptions underlying some of those things that seemed so logical. For example, I came to see that resemblances between taxonomic families, orders, classes, etc. are due to the work of a creator, not common ancestry.”
Dr. Michael Tigges, Senior Aerospace Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center says: ‘His Christian faith is also an inspiration to his work:
‘The heavens declare God’s glory in all ways. In all ways! From the moment I peered up into space as a child, I sensed the presence of God. When I see a Hubble Space Telescope image I react with fear and awe. Every mathematical equation I write to predict the path of space vehicles illuminates the miracle of precision designed into our world. Every Space Shuttle launch, I marvel at the ingenuity granted to man by God to accomplish that feat.’
Dr. Don DeYoung, Astronomy, Atmospheric Physics tells that: “Two Bible references are helpful in considering the nature of gravity and physical science in general. First, Colossians 1:17 explains that Christ is before all things, and by Him all things consist. The Greek verb for consist (συνιστάω sunistaō) means to cohere, preserve, or hold together. Extrabiblical Greek use of this word pictures a container holding water within itself. The word is used in Colossians in the perfect tense, which normally implies a present continuing state arising from a completed past action. One physical mechanism used is obviously gravity, established by the Creator and still maintained without flaw today. Consider the alternative; if gravity ceased for one moment, instant chaos surely would result. All heavenly objects, including the earth, moon and stars, would no longer hold together. Everything would immediately disintegrate into small fragments.”
Dr. Don DeYoung, Astronomy, Atmospheric Physics goes on to say: “A second reference, Hebrews 1:3, declares that Christ upholds all things by the word of His power. Uphold (φέρω pherō) again describes the sustaining or maintaining of all things, including gravity. The word uphold in this verse means much more than simply supporting a weight. It includes control of all the ongoing motions and changes within the universe. This infinite task is managed by the Lord’s almighty Word, whereby the universe itself was first called into being. Gravity, the ‘mystery force’, which is poorly understood after nearly four centuries of research, is one of the manifestations of this awesome divine upholding.”
Prof. Dwain L. Ford, Organic Chemistry states: “Even though there is general acceptance of the evidence for small genetic changes which may be referred to as microevolution, hard evidence for the formation of any new species by macroevolution is lacking.
Evidence for intelligent design is widespread in nature. For example:
- The motorized rotating flagellum of some bacteria.
- Blood clotting and its control.
- The high degree of organization within a typical cell.
- Cell division and its control.
- The system for protein synthesis.
- The human eye.
- The respiratory chain based in the highly organized mitochondria.
- The biosynthetic pathway in which acetyl CoA [coenzyme] is the key compound.”
Dr. David Catchpoole, Plant Physiologist shares: “When you start thinking as a creationist, you notice design features in our bodies and in the animal kingdom that offer amazing evidences for design by an all-wise and all-knowing Creator. For example, fish eyes are typically located at the point of zero gauge pressure along the side of its body. At that one unique location, the pressure force exerted by the surrounding water is constant regardless of how fast the fish is swimming. At any other location, the eyeball would get either pressed inward or suctioned outward and distorted, which would greatly inhibit the fish’s vision. I can explain the physics of why that one spot on the side of the fish’s head is the ideal spot for the placement of an eye, but how does one explain why the eye is actually located there? Evolutionists say that the eyes just happened to migrate to that spot by trial and error and survival of the fittest over millions of years. I say that God designed it that way from the beginning! God understands fluid mechanics!”
Dr Nancy M. Darrall, Botany states: “The evidence points to an intelligent designer of the vast array of life, both living and extinct, rather than to unguided mindless evolution. However, some see that evidence from the natural world requires a designer but are content just to accept the possibility of an intelligent force behind the universe. If an intelligent force designed the world, surely we, as intelligent beings, must take this further and find out the nature of this being. The Bible tells me that the intelligent mind behind the universe is a God who is in total control; this excludes the possibility that He acted through evolution.”
When interviewed, Prof. Edward A. Boudreaux, Theoretical Chemist states: “Both DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) are in some respects more complex than proteins, because they contain a greater variety of molecular units forming nucleosides (nucleotide bases, ribose, and phosphate). These nucleosides are all joined together in very specific patterns so as to perform unique and crucial functions. The ribose and phosphate (-PO4) units are bonded together in a regularly alternating sequence, thus producing long chains coiled in a right-handed helix. Each nucleotide is bound to one specific C atom on each ribose unit. In the case of RNA, the structure is a single-stranded right-handed helix containing four different nucleotides (adenine, cytosine, guanine, uracil) arranged in very specific repeating sequences throughout the length of the chain. Each type of RNA has a different pattern in the sequencing of the four nucleotides. The DNA structure consists of a right-handed double helix, also containing four nucleotides. Three of these are the same as in RNA, but one is different: thymine replaces uracil.
The nucleotides themselves belong to two classes of molecules called purines and pyrimidines. Adenine and guanine are purines, while cytosine, thymine and uracil are pyrimidines. There are many hundreds of varieties of purines and pyrimidines, but only these select five determine the structures and functions of DNA and RNA.
Similarly, ribose is only one of a large number of molecules called saccharides. Why only ribose and its D isomer, but not one or more other saccharides in DNA and RNA? Likewise, why only phosphate and not sulfate or silicate, etc? Only phosphate works.
These few examples contain clear evidence of complex design imparting tailor-made functions. Such characteristics defy the probability that any random evolutionary process could account for such unique specificity in design.
Admittedly, it may require some general comprehension of chemistry to fully appreciate these chemical evidences of creative design which have been presented. But it is this evidence provided not only from chemistry, but from all other areas of science as well, that convinces me to accept creation by God as the only viable and scientifically reasonable explanation of origins. ”
Dr. Michael Tigges, Senior Aerospace Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center during an interview: ‘Finally, Michael puts it into perspective:‘However, as great as the Apollo event was, and as great the impact Apollo has had on humanity today, it pales in comparison to the truth of the impact of a single man on the lives of countless millions—a man whom we know as Jesus Christ and who lived, died and rose again about 2,000 years ago.’
Evolution Weaknesses
During his interview, E. Theo Agard, 1993 elected to the national board of directors of the Health Physics Society reports: “My belief in the supernatural creation of this world in six days is summarized largely in the following points: the theory of evolution is not as scientifically sound as many people believe.”
E. Theo Agard goes on to say: “From my reading I understand that the fossil record has failed to produce the intermediate forms of life required by evolution as transitions between the species.”
Dr. James Allan, Geneticist, during an interview says:“He now finds it sad that anyone should insist on evolutionary interpretations, which are ‘unproven and unprovable.’ ‘Science,’ he says:‘becomes much more meaningful and satisfying in the light of Scripture, rather than in rejecting it. And I certainly believe it is only as we consider together with legitimate science, the truth learned from Scripture, that we can ever really understand and appreciate the physical universe in which we live.”
Response by Dr. James Allan, Geneticist, when: Asked how he coped as a creationist university lecturer, he said, ‘he used to give two lectures on evolution. One was what the theory said, and the other why he didn’t believe it.’
Dr. Don Batten, Plant physiologist, tropical fruit expert shares how a professor’s comment influenced him: As an off-the-cuff remark a Professor of Zoology said in a lecture ‘Some of you are worried about this evolution stuff. Don’t worry too much about it, I don’t know whether I believe it myself.’ Something ‘clicked’ with me when he said this—I came to see, after considerable prayer and study, that evolution is really a belief system parading as science. -
When interviewed, Prof. Edward A. Boudreaux, Theoretical Chemistry said: “There are hypotheses, grandiose models, suppositions and inferences, all of which are formulated and reinforced within the collective and self-serving collaborations of the evolutionist gurus. However, none of this amounts to true scientific evidence for evolution.”
Prof. Edward A. Boudreaux goes on to say: “While it is true that I may not have been as thoroughly schooled in those ivory tower disciplines of evolution as are the so-called “experts,” I was, nonetheless, more than adequately informed as a scientist to be able to read and comprehend various technical publications on evolution. Subsequently, the greatest embarrassment of all was for me to find that there simply was no valid science whatever, in any of these numerous publications touting evolution.”
Prof. Edward A. Boudreaux further says: “It has also been clearly demonstrated that observed similarities between organisms, fossil or living, have absolutely nothing to do with proving evolution per se. Similarly, there is neither a single model nor combination thereof, regarding the evolution of the cosmos, that provides an adequate explanation of all observed cosmological data. In fact, the actual data is frequently in disagreement with the various proposed models.”
Dr David Catchpoole, Plant Physiologist states after much research about this: “Darwin was cleverly able to apply selection to breed pigeons so different from each other that, if found in the wild, a biologist might have put them into separate species, or even separate genera. Darwin’s work actually demonstrates how the intense selection pressures after the Flood could have acted on gene pools rich in variety to allow rapid speciation/adaptive radiation from the restricted number of land-dwelling kinds represented on the Ark. The variability built into each created kind thus allowed post-Flood populations to respond to changing environmental pressures (adapt) and thus conserve the kinds.
Ardent supporters of Darwinism might well fancy that pigeons support their hero’s ideas, but in reality the notion that primeval pond scum gave rise to pigeons, plants and people is nothing but wishful flight-of-fancy.”
Dr. Dudley Eirich, Ph.D., Molecular Biologist said: ‘If you wanted to engineer a fly to turn it into something else, it would have to be re-engineered from the ground up. Natural selection would tend to eliminate all the adjustments along the way. Blind chance and future environments would not know that it has to keep useless bits of equipment until another enzyme evolved; you need a chain of enzymes, and you need the enzymes to be regulated.’
Dr. James Allan, Geneticist, during an interview: The Interviewer asks: ‘We raised the issue of new species forming by natural selection, to which he [Dr. Allan] replied:
‘It doesn’t matter if one population breaks into several subgroups, even to the extent of not reproducing with each other anymore. In fact, you would expect that to happen after the Flood, so coyotes, wolves, dingoes, and so on might have had a common ancestor, but the key is that there’s no new information—that natural processes don’t create any new DNA information. I’ve observed 40 generations of selection of fruit flies. I’ve seen lots of defective flies because of mutations, but I’ve never seen new, additional genetic information appear which would give hope to evolutionists. The belief in amoeba-to-man evolution needs a huge amount of new genetic information.’ ”
Prof. Danny Faulkner, Astronomy says in an interview: “Then there is the moon—due to tidal friction, this is slowly spiraling away from the earth, which is slowing down its rotation. If you calculate back a billion and a half years ago, the moon would have been in direct contact with the earth. So that is a very strong indicator that the moon can’t be even a third as old as the claimed 4.5 billion years, and it is probably vastly less than that.”
Additionally, Prof. Danny Faulkner states: “Also, theory suggests we should find plenty of, say, million-year-old supernova remnants, but we don’t find any—though there are many that are thousands of years old. And that is a very startling result if you really believe in a universe that’s millions of years old.”
Dr Russell Humphreys, Physicist states in an article he published: “Thus the Moon’s magnetic data strongly support the biblical record of its recent creation and become a severe stumbling-block for those who want to believe in billions of years.”
Dr Paul Giem, Medical Research says that: “Carbon-14 dating was the most fascinating method of all. Fossil carbon, with a conventional age of up to 350 million years, repeatedly dated to less than 55,000 radiocarbon years. This is compatible with a date of as low as 4,000 years in real time (the date of the Flood would have to be determined on other grounds). It is incompatible with an age of millions of years, or even realistically with an age of over 100,000 years or so. It basically forces one into accepting a short chronology for life on earth.
Thus, if one accepts a designer intelligent enough to produce life, and a short timescale, it becomes very difficult to avoid the claims of the Bible. There is also the inability to adequately explain the Creation Week on the basis of Mesopotamian or Egyptian legends or customs. This implies that Genesis 1–9 is not just myth, but an account of what actually happened.
I arrived at that conclusion by following the data. I am not afraid of further data. I welcome challenges and actually look for them. I believe that if we do our homework carefully enough, and without succumbing to bias, we will find that the Book, including a literal 6-day creation, will stand. When properly understood, nature testifies to the trustworthiness of God’s Word.”
Steven A. Austin, Creationist Geology Professor states: “That led to a change in thinking,” Steve said. “I could go back to my professors and say, ‘I told you so.’ The fact is that geologic features form rapidly and not over millions of years. The geologic evidence is entirely consistent with the biblical timescale.”
“Steve has also ‘dated’ some lava flows from the young volcanoes at the top of Grand Canyon. Once again, he used two different methods: rubidium-strontium and potassium-argon. And again, the dates from the different methods did not agree. Even one internationally known researcher on radioisotope dating admitted to Steve that half of the ‘dates’ from whole-rock samples from Grand Canyon are wrong.”

Creation Evidence - A Few Brief Examples:
- Lack of Transitional Fossils. Charles Darwin wrote, "Lastly, looking not to any one time, but to all time, if my theory be true, numberless intermediate varieties, linking closely together all the species of the same group, must assuredly have existed. But, as by this theory, innumerable transitional forms must have existed, why do we not find them embedded in countless numbers in the crust of the earth?" (Origin of Species, 1859). Since Darwin put forth his theory, scientists have sought fossil evidence indicating past organic transitions. Nearly 150 years later, there has been no evidence of transition found thus far in the fossil record.
- Lack of a Natural Mechanism. Charles Darwin, in his Origin of Species, proposed Natural Selection to be the mechanism by which an original simple-celled organism could have evolved gradually into all species observed today, both plant and animal. Darwin defines evolution as "descent with modification." However, Natural Selection is known to be a conservative process, not a means of developing complexity from simplicity. Later, with our increased understanding of genetics, it was thought perhaps Natural Selection in conjunction with genetic mutation allowed for the development of all species from a common ancestor. However, this is theoretical and controversial, since "beneficial" mutations have yet to be observed. In fact, scientists have only observed harmful, "downward" mutations thus far.
- Time Constraints. Both Creationists and Evolutionists agree that if evolution is at all possible, there needs to be an excessive (if not infinite) amount of time. For much of the 20th century, it was thought evolutionists had all the time they needed. If the earth ever looked too young for certain evolutionary developments to have occurred, the age was pushed back in the textbooks. In 1905, the earth was declared to be two billion years old. By 1970, the earth was determined to be 3.5 billion years old, and by the 1990's, the earth had become 4.6 billion years old. However, Young Earth advocates have identified quite a few Young Earth chronometers in recent years. Currently, there are approximately five times more natural chronometers indicating a "Young Earth" than an "Old Earth." Each discovery is a separate "Limiting Factor" that places a constraint on the possible age of the earth. For example, moon drift, earth rotation speed, magnetic field decay, erosion rates, chemical influx into the oceans, ocean salinity, etc, all constrain the possible age of the earth. Each Limiting Factor is distinct. If one were successfully challenged, there is still the problem of all the rest. Furthermore, there are Limiting Factors constraining the possible age of the universe, such as spiral galaxies where they're maintaining their spiral shapes despite their centers spinning faster than their extremities.
- Unacceptable Model of Origins. The Big Bang Theory is the accepted source of Origins among the majority of Evolutionists, and is taught in our public schools. However, the Big Bang does not explain many things, including the uneven distribution of matter that results in "voids" and "clumps," or the retrograde motion that must violate the Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum. Furthermore, the Big Bang does not address the primary question at hand, "where did everything come from?" Did nothing explode? How did this explosion cause order, while every explosion observed in recorded history causes disorder and disarray?
[On the other hand, I thought I should include information from a Christian who has Scientific proof through Bible passages that reinforce the idea that God’s creation of the world was done with scientific principles related to what is now called the Big Bang Theory. Although I am not going to include the whole article due to space and time constraints, I am going to include several excerpts and all of the Bible verses he lists to support this idea.]
Big Bang—The Bible Taught It First!

“All these scientists, however, were upstaged by 2500 years and more by Job, Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and other Bible authors. The Bible’s prophets and apostles stated explicitly and repeatedly the two most fundamental properties of the big bang, a transcendent cosmic beginning a finite time period ago and a universe undergoing a general, continual expansion. In Isaiah 42:5 both properties were declared, “This is what the Lord says—He who created the heavens and stretched them out.”
“The participles in lines one and three of Isaiah 40:22 characterize our sovereign God by His actions in all times, sitting enthroned above the earth and stretching out the heavens, constantly exercising his creative power in His ongoing providential work.” … “That is, this one verse literally states that God is both continuing to stretch out the heavens and has stretched them out.”
“This simultaneously finished and ongoing aspect of cosmic stretching is identical to the big bang concept of cosmic expansion. According to the big bang, at the creation event all the physics (specifically, the laws, constants, and equations of physics) are instantly created, designed, and finished so as to guarantee an ongoing, continual expansion of the universe at exactly the right rates with respect to time so that physical life will be possible.”
“This biblical claim for simultaneously finished and ongoing acts of creation, incidentally, is not limited to just the universe’s expansion. The same claim, for example, is made for God’s laying Earth’s foundations (Isaiah 51:13; Zechariah 12:1). This is consistent with the geophysical discovery that certain long-lived radiometric elements were placed into the earth’s crust a little more than four billion years ago in just the right quantities so as to guarantee the continual building of continents.”
“Finally, the Bible indirectly argues for a big bang universe by stating that the laws of thermodynamics, gravity, and electromagnetism have universally operated throughout the universe since the cosmic creation event itself. In Romans 8 we are told that the entire creation has been subjected to the law of decay (the second law of thermodynamics). This law in the context of an expanding universe establishes that the cosmos was much hotter in the past. In Genesis 1 and in many places throughout Job, Psalms, and Proverbs we are informed that stars have existed since the early times of creation. As explained in two Reasons To Believe books,10 even the slightest changes in either the laws of gravity or electromagnetism would make stars impossible. As already noted in the accompanying article, gravity, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics yield stable orbits of planets around stars and of electrons around the nuclei of atoms only if they operate in a universe described by three very large rapidly expanding dimensions of space.”
Genesis 1:1 says: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 2:3-4 says: Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made. This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
Psalm 148:5 says: Let them praise the name of the Lord, For He commanded and they were created.
Isaiah 40:22 says: It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Isaiah 40:26 says: Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
Isaiah 42:5 says: Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it:
Isaiah 45:5-22 says: I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.’ “Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. John 1:3 says:All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
Colossians 1:15-17 says: He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominion or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
Proverbs 8:22-31 says: “The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world. When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the earth, Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men.
John 17:24 records what Jesus said: “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundations of the world.”
Ephesians 1:[3-] 4 [-6] says: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
2 Timothy 1:[8-] 9 [-11] says: Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was give to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, to which I [Paul] was appointed a preacher, and apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

1 Peter 1:20 [-21] says: He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
Job 9:[5-] 8 [-10] says: He removes the mountains, and they do not know When He overturns them in His anger; He shakes the earth out of its place, And its pillars tremble; He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the stars; He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea; He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the chambers of the south; He does great things past finding out, Yes, wonders without number.
Psalm 104:[1-] 2 says: Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

Isaiah 51:13 says: And you forget the Lord your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundation of the earth; You have feared continually every day Because of the fury of the oppressor, When he was prepared to destroy.
Jeremiah 10:12 says: He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion.
Jeremiah 51:15 [-16] says: He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding. When He utters His voice- There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
Zechariah 12:1 [-2] says: The burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.
Job 37:18 says: With Him, have you spread out the skies, Strong as a cast metal mirror?
Romans 8:20-21 says: For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him [Jesus] who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

The visitor strongly asserted that it was wrong for CSI to teach children that men and dinosaurs lived contemporaneously. Using the Don’t Answer – Answer Technique, I first responded to the inquirer, “I don’t agree with your premise that it is wrong to teach children that men and dinosaurs lived together. I happen to believe the Bible and it clearly teaches that this is the actual case.

The Bible is not a science book, yet it is scientifically accurate. We are not aware of any scientific evidence that contradicts the Bible. We have listed statements on this page that are consistent with known scientific facts. Many of them were listed in the Bible hundreds or even thousands of years before being recorded elsewhere. Many concepts and notes on this page are adapted from ideas and statements that appear in The DEFENDER’S Study Bible.[1]
Statements Consistent With Paleontology
- Dinosaurs are referred to in several Bible books. The book of Job describes two dinosaurs. One is described in chapter 40 starting at verse 15, and the other in chapter 41 starting at verse 1. We think you will agree that 1½ chapters about dinosaurs is a lot—since most people do not even realize that they are mentioned in the Bible. (Actually reading the Bible would help, though.

God is telling them that He created these gargantuan creatures and has intimate knowledge about them, that only the creator would have.] Job 40:15-24 says: “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox. See now, his strength is in his hips, And his power is in his stomach muscles. He moves his tail like a cedar; The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit. - [God continues to challenge Job’s not so supportive friends, giving them specific details about another gargantuan creature He created. It is my opinion that God is saying to them, “Who do you think you are telling Job that he suffered all of this loss and has these boils on his body because God is punishing Job for some evil he has done?” God is setting the record straight on just who the creator-God is, and that they don’t really know what they are talking about.] Job 41:1-34 says: “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower? Can you put a reed through his nose, Or pierce his jaw with a hook? Will he speak softly to you? Will he make a covenant with you? Will You play with him as with a bird. Or will you leash him for your maidens? Will your companions make a banquet of him? Will they apportion him among the merchants? Can you fill his skin with harpoons, Or his head with fishing spears? Statements Consistent With Astronomy
- The Bible frequently refers to the great number of stars in the heavens. Here are two examples.
- Genesis 22:17
Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. [This relates to the following passage.] - Jeremiah 33:22
“As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.”
Even today, scientists admit that they do not know how many stars there are. Only about 3,000 can be seen with the naked eye. We have seen estimates of 1021 stars—which is a lot of stars.[2] (The number of grains of sand on the earth’s seashores is estimated to be 1025. As scientists discover more stars, wouldn’t it be interesting to discover that these two numbers match?) - The Bible also says that each star is unique.
- 1 Corinthians 15:41
There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.
All stars look alike to the naked eye.* Even when seen through a telescope, they seem to be just points of light. However, analysis of their light spectra reveals that each is unique and different from all others.[1] (*Note: We understand that people can perceive some slight difference in color and apparent brightness when looking at stars with the naked eye, but we would not expect a person living in the first century A.D. to claim they differ from one another.) - The Bible describes the precision of movement in the universe.
- Jeremiah 31:35,36
Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name): “If those ordinances depart From before Me, says the LORD, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.” - The Bible describes the suspension of the Earth in space.
- Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.
Statements Consistent With Meteorology
- The Bible describes the circulation of the atmosphere.
- Ecclesiastes 1:6
The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit. - The Bible includes some principles of fluid dynamics.
- Job 28:25
To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure.
The fact that air has weight was proven scientifically only about 300 years ago. The relative weights of air and water are needed for the efficient functioning of the world’s hydrologic cycle, which in turn sustains life on the earth.[1] (If you are a physics enthusiast, please ignore our omission of the terms mass, gravity, and density from this comment.)
Statements Consistent With Biology
- The book of Leviticus (written prior to 1400 BC) describes the value of blood.
- Leviticus 17:11
‘For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
The blood carries water and nourishment to every cell, maintains the body’s temperature, and removes the waste material of the body’s cells. The blood also carries oxygen from the lungs throughout the body. In 1616, William Harvey discovered that blood circulation is the key factor in physical life—confirming what the Bible revealed 3,000 years earlier.[1] - The Bible describes biogenesis (the development of living organisms from other living organisms) and the stability of each kind of living organism.
- Genesis 1:11,12
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. - Genesis 1:21
So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. - Genesis 1:25
And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
The phrase “according to its kind” occurs repeatedly, stressing the reproductive integrity of each kind of animal and plant. Today we know this occurs because all of these reproductive systems are programmed by their genetic codes.[1] - The Bible describes the chemical nature of flesh.
- Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. - Genesis 3:19
In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return. - It is a proven fact that a person’s mental and spiritual health is strongly correlated with physical health.[1] The Bible revealed this to us with these statements (and others) written by King Solomon about 950 BC.
- Proverbs 12:4
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones. - Proverbs 14:30
A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones. - Proverbs 15:30
The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, And a good report makes the bones healthy. - Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. - Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Statements Consistent With Anthropology
- We have cave paintings and other evidence that people inhabited caves. The Bible also describes cave men.
- Job 30:5,6
They were driven out from among men, They shouted at them as at a thief.
They had to live in the clefts of the valleys, In caves of the earth and the rocks.
Note that these were not ape-men, but descendants of those who scattered from Babel. They were driven from the community by those tribes who competed successfully for the more desirable regions of the earth. Then for some reason they deteriorated mentally, physically, and spiritually.[1] (Go into a bad part of your town and you will see this concept in action today.)
Statements Consistent With Hydrology
- The bible includes reasonably complete descriptions of the hydrologic cycle.[3]
- Psalm 135:7
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries. - Jeremiah 10:13
When He utters His voice, There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
“And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
In these verses you can see several phases of the hydrologic cycle—the worldwide processes of evaporation, translation aloft by atmospheric circulation, condensation with electrical discharges, and precipitation.[1] - Job 36:27-29
For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man.
Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy?
This simple verse has remarkable scientific insight. The drops of water which eventually pour down as rain first become vapor and then condense to tiny liquid water droplets in the clouds. These finally coalesce into drops large enough to overcome the updrafts that suspend them in the air.[1] - The Bible describes the recirculation of water.
- Ecclesiastes 1:7
All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again. - Isaiah 55:10
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, - The Bible refers to the surprising amount of water that can be held as condensation in clouds.
- Job 26:8
He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it. - Job 37:11
Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. - Hydrothermal vents[4] are described in two books of the Bible written before 1400BC—more than 3,000 years before their discovery by science.
- Genesis 7:11
In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. - Job 38:16

Statements Consistent With Geology
- The Bible describes the Earth’s crust (along with a comment on astronomy).
- Jeremiah 31:37
Thus says the LORD: “If heaven above can be measured, And the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel For all that they have done, says the LORD.”
Although some scientists claim that they have now measured the size of the universe, it is interesting to note that every human attempt to drill through the earth’s crust to the plastic mantle beneath has, thus far, ended in failure.[1] - The Bible described the shape of the earth centuries before people thought that the earth was spherical.
- Isaiah 40:22
It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
The word translated “circle” here is the Hebrew word chuwg which is also translated “circuit,” or “compass” (depending on the context). That is, it indicates something spherical, rounded, or arched—not something that is flat or square.
The book of Isaiah was written sometime between 740 and 680 BC. This is at least 300 years before Aristotle suggested that the earth might be a sphere in this book On the Heavens.
This brings up an important historical note related to this topic. Many people are aware of the conflict between Galileo and the Roman Catholic Pope, Paul V. After publishing A Dialogue on the Two Principal Systems of the World, Galileo was summoned to Rome, where he was forced to renounce his findings. (At that time, “theologians” of the Roman Catholic Church maintained that the Earth was the center of the universe, and to assert otherwise was deemed heretical.)
We could not find any place in the Bible that claims that the Earth is flat, or that it is the center of the universe. History shows that this conflict, which took place at the time of the Inquisition, was part of a power struggle. As a result, scientific and biblical knowledge became casualties—an effect we still feel to this day.
Statements Consistent With Physics
- The Bible suggests the presence of nuclear processes like those we associate with nuclear weaponry. This is certainly not something that could have been explained in 67 AD using known scientific principles (when Peter wrote the following verse).
- 2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. - The television is a practical (if not always worthwhile ) device that uses electromagnetic waves (which transmit its video signal). The Bible contains passages that describe something like television—something that allows everyone on earth see a single event. (Note: such passages typically refer to the end of time. It may not be long before all of us learn for sure whether the Bible is true or not.)
- Matthew 24:30

Things In The Bible That Science Can Not Explain
The purpose of this page is not to explain what a great science text the Bible is, but to show that it is consistent with scientific facts. Still, the Bible mentions some things that we can not explain. Yet, if God is really God, He should have the ability to do some things we can not explain.
In the last 100 years (and especially in the last ten) scientists discovered many proofs that confirm the Bible’s accuracy. Since these proofs support the accuracy of the text we can understand scientifically, it makes sense to trust the Bible’s text that we can not yet understand. How Do You Know The Bible Is True?
If you like reading books, a good one that addresses the facts that support Christianity is Know Why You Believe by Paul Little. There is an advantage to a book—it does not change as a page on the Internet can. Plus, a million copies of Paul Little’s book have been printed (about 40 times the number required to be called a “best seller”) which proves it is not an isolated person’s opinion.

[In my analysis of these Bible passages listed in ClarifyingChristianity.com/ and their connection to Scientific Principles, I am mostly very impressed, especially related to things that were described in the Bible long before those Scientific Principles were even discovered.]
[On the other hand, I have some reservation for the last portion related to Physics and nuclear processes about the Lord coming like a thief in the night and the two witnesses coming back alive after three and a half days. I have read these passages many times over the years and do believe these things will happen, but I never, ever got a connection to nuclear processes or electromagnetic waves.]

We probably won’t know for sure until the end of the world, but at that point, we believers in Christ will be focused on joining our Savior in heaven, not whether the method predicted for the end was connected to a nuclear process. This is a difference of interpretation regarding those particular passages and what the Bible says is going to happen at the end of the world and which really isn’t related to the science concepts themselves.]

The Complexity of a Single Living Cell
Third, the biogenesis of the first life form is inexplicable from a naturalistic standpoint.
Even on a planet with the perfect external conditions for life, naturalistic science cannot explain how life began. Before positing any theory of natural selection or evolution, one must deal with the origin of life. Yet even a single cell is so complex that it defies possibility that such a thing could simply emerge from a primordial slime.
Even if one could synthesize both proteins and DNA, one is still not anywhere close to having a cell. The minimum genome size requires the simultaneous occurrence of all the essential gene products. RNA, DNA, and complex carbohydrates must all be present to form the cell wall, and lipids must be present to form the membrane. There can be no proteins without DNA and RNA, but there can be no DNA and RNA without proteins—and so it goes, on and on and on.
In other words, as we look closer at cells—the building blocks of every living thing—we find that these building blocks are in themselves as complex as the bodies they constitute. Even the simplest form of life, therefore, appears to be irreducibly complex, such that it could not have come into existence by merely natural means.
The Language of DNA
Finally, cells contain information. DNA most closely resembles a language, because it encodes all the information necessary for life.
The information in any human’s 70-plus trillion cells is equivalent to more than several sets of the Encyclopedia Britannica. We have to ask ourselves, Where does all this information come from? What makes a message? If it symbolically represents something other than itself, it requires a speaker—which is a transmitter—and a listener—which is a receiver—and it contains the elements of language.
The presence of all of this information implies a source of intelligence. Information requires intentionality. It does not come about by a random process. Information transcends matter and energy. The pure naturalist will try to imagine a message that does not have a mind behind it, or information that does not have intelligence behind it, but this fact remains: There is only one principle that we know can come up with complex interactive systems, and that is intelligence. This is the explanation most compatible with the observable facts.
[In this Biblical Research Project, I have evaluated more Biblical Evidence of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit’s creation of the world correlated to Scientific Principles than I could ever hope to share in one podcast or blog post. What I wanted to say was that God’s creation of the world incorporated a vast array of Scientific Principles, but that’s wrong! God didn’t incorporate those Scientific Principles. God created those Scientific Principles at the same time He created the world! I actually had never thought about this before, but it’s true! God had the continents separate and scientists discovered the Scientific Principles God used, much later.]

I don’t think I would have realized it if I hadn’t been doing this major Biblical Research Project to prove that the God’s Creation of the world was consistent with Scientific Principles. I just realized, I should have put it this way: Are Scientific Principles consistent with God’s Creation of the World? That would have been more in keeping with what actually happened, since it was much later that scientists discovered the principles, although they have existed since the creation of our world. Additionally, scientists are still learning more about God’s creations like DNA and have to adapt their understanding of these Scientific Principles as they discover more. It isn’t the DNA that has changed, because God created it, but it’s the scientist’s understanding of these Scientific Principles that is changing. ]

[I have heard and read more arguments between Christians about Creation than any other topic. Some Christians hold fast to God's creating the world in six days. Others feel God created the world, but each day was thousands or millions of years. I've heard other Christians say that God's creation of the world was through the Big Bang Theory and others by some form of evolution, etc. ]
[The thing is, in my opinion, many Christians get lost in the weeds. God created the world. Does it really matter if it took six literal days or days that were thousands or millions of years long, etc? There have been some who have really gotten lost in the weeds over this to the point that they lost their faith. That's not what really matters! What matters is that God did create the world and He wants us to focus on Jesus, His Son's sacrifice on the cross and resurrection for our sins! We need to stay focused on what really matters and not let others get us caught up in unproductive discussions or arguments that can lead us astray by getting us lost in the weeds. For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, He formed it to be inhabited: I Am the LORD; and there is none else. Isaiah 45:18]
