John Verses Where Jesus Predicted His Death and Resurrection

Another way to know that Jesus is God's Son is that God is All Knowing. Jesus, the Son of God, knew and told His Disciples ahead of time about His approaching capture, torture, death, and resurrection to save us all from our sins.

Jesus Tells Us That His Ascending to Heaven [After His Death] Will Provide Believers Everlasting Life
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:12-16

Jesus, God's Son Is The Bread of Life Who Is Going to Give His Life to Save the World
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save He which is of God, He hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:46-51

Being God's Son, Jesus Knew Ahead of Time Who Would Betray Him
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray Him. And He said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of My Father. John 6:63-65

Peter Acknowledges Jesus is the Son of God, Then Jesus Predicts He Will be Betrayed by Judas
Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that Thou are that Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray Him, being one of the twelve. John 6: 68-71

Jesus Predicts of His Death, Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven to be with God the Father
Then said Jesus unto themYet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto Him that sent Me. Ye shall seek Me, and shall not find Me: and where I am, thither ye cannot come. John 7:33-34

Jesus Tells How They Are Plotting to Take His Life & If They Truly Believed in God, They Would Know He's God's Son
But now ye seek to kill Me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to Him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love Me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of Myself, but He sent Me. John 7:40-42

Jesus Predicted That When He Died and Arose that Those Who Didn't Believe He Is God's Son Would Die in Their Sins
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as He taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on Him; for His hour was not yet come. Then said Jesus again unto them, I go My way, and ye shall seek Me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. Then said the Jews, Will He kill Himself? because He saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come. And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto Him, Who art Thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but He that sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of Him. They understood not that He spake to them of the Father. John 8:20-27

Jesus Is Telling Them When He is Crucified and Arises, They Will Know He Is God's Son
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of Man, then shall ye know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these things. And He that sent Me is with me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him. As He spake these words, many believed on Him. John 8:28-30

Jesus Was Predicting His Death for All in the Parable of the Good Shepherd
I am the Good shepherd: the Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep. John 10:11

Jesus Tells How He Is Choosing to Give His Life for His Sheep, Because He Loves Us
I am the Good Shepherd, and Know My Sheep, and am known of Mine. As the Father knoweth Me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold and One Shepherd. Therefore doth My Father love Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commanddment have I received of My Father. John 10:14-18

After Doing Many Miracles, the Priests Formed a Plot to Kill Jesus as Jesus Had Already Predicted Would Happen to Him
Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, what do we? for this Man doeth many miracles. If we let Him thus alone, all men will believe on Him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. And one of them named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation. And not for that nation only, but that also He should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put Him to death. John 11:45-53

Jesus Predicts His Death to Judas as He Tells How Mary Has Used the Ointment for His Burial
Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. Then saith one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray Him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of My burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but Me ye have not always. John 12:3-8

Jesus Predicts His Death and God the Father Speaks from Heaven Glorifying Him
Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify Thy nameThen came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. The people therefore heard it, and said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to Him. Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of Me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the Prince of this World be cast out. And I , if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me. This He said, signifying what death He should die. John 12:22-27

Jesus Predicts to the 12 Disciples He Will be Betrayed & Tells Them How to Identify by Whom
When Jesus had thus said, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom He spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom He spake. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto Him, Lord, who is it? Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a [morsel], when I have dipped it. And when He had dipped the [morsel], He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the [morsel] Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. John 13:21-27

The Disciples Didn't Understand When He Said He Would Be Gloried, Jesus Predicted His Death and Resurrection
Now no man at the table knew for what intent He spake this unto him. For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God be glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall straightway glorify Him. John 13:28-32

Jesus Predicts Again His Death and Resurrection, but Tells Them to Love One Another
Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek Me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:33-35

*Jesus Predicts that Peter Will Betray Him 3 Times Before Morning
Simon Peter said unto Him, Lord, whither goest Thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow Me now; but thou shall follow Me afterwards. Peter said unto Him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for Thy sake. Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for My sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied Me thrice. John 13:36-38

Jesus Predicts He's Going to Heaven to Be With God [After His Death and Resurrection] and Will Prepare a Place for the Disciples
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14:1-4

Jesus Tells the Disciples He Is the Way to Eternal Life and That God the Father Dwells in Him
Thomas saith unto Him, Lord, we know not whither Thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me. If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him. Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? he that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works' sake. John 14:5-11

Jesus Predicts That the Disciples Will See Him Again After He Arises from the Dead Before Ascending to Heaven to be with God the Father & They Will Join Him in the Future
I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth Me no more; but ye see Me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in My Father, and ye in Me, and I in you. John 14:18-20

Jesus Explains to the Disciples That the Reason He's Predicted All These Things Is So They Believe Them and Know He Is God's Son When They Come to Pass
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved Me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for My Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. John 14:27-29

Jesus Prepares His Disciples for His Going to be With God the Father After His Death and Resurrection
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved Me, ye would rejoice because I said, I go unto the Father: for My Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Me. But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. John 14:28-31

Jesus is Predicting that He Is Choosing to Give His Life for His Chosen Friends
This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a Man lay down His live for His friends. Ye are My friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of My Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. John 15:12-18

Jesus Again Prepares the Disciples for His Death, Resurrection & Ascension to God, His Father
And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor Me. But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. But now I go My way to Him that sent Me; and none of you asketh Me, Whither goest Thou? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He is Come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on Me; Of righteousness, because I go to My Father, and ye see Me no more; John 16:3-10

Jesus Predicts the Disciples Will Go From Being Sad When He Dies to Being Joyful When He Arises from the Dead
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask Him, and said unto them, Do ye [inquire] among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see Me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see Me? Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. John 16:19-20

Again Jesus Is Preparing His Disciple for His Going to Heaven to Join God the Father After His Death and Resurrection
At that day ye shall ask in My name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the father for you: For the Father Himself loveth you, because ye have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the FatherJohn 16:26-28

Jesus Tells the Disciples Not to Be Sorrowful because His Death Lies Ahead, but God, His Father, Is With Him
Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave Me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. John 16:32

Jesus Fulfilled Old Testament Prophesy When He Gave Himself Up to the Guards Knowing He is Going to be Put to Death, so His Disciples Would be Unharmed
Then asked He them againWhom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, have told you that I am He: if therefore ye seek Me, let these go their way: That the saying might be fulfilled, which He spake, Of them which Thou gavest Me have I lost none. Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off His right ear. The servant's name was Malchus. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which My Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it? John 18:7-11

*Jesus Had Predicted Peter Would Deny Him 3 Times Before Morning and He Did
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest. But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this Mans' disciples? He saith, I am not. And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. John 18:15-18...And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of His disciples? He denied it, and said I am not. One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with Him? Peter than denied again: and immediately the cock crew. John 18:25-27

Jesus Tells Pilate That He Was Born Into This World to Bear Witness Unto the Truth
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art Thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth My voicePilate saith unto Him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in Him no fault at all. John 18:34-38

*Jesus Had Predicted That They Would beat and Mock Him Before They Put Him to Death
Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged Him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe, And said, hail, King of the Jews! and they smote Him with their hands. John 19:1-3

The Prediction About Jesus' Crucifixion in the Old Testament is Fulfilled
My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaveth to My jaws; and Thou hast brought Me into the dust of death. For Dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have [enclosed] Me: they pierced My Hands and My feet. I may tell all My bones: they look and stare upon Me. They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My vesture. Psalm 22:15-18...Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also His coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said therefore among themselves; Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted My raiment among them, and for My vesture they did cast lots. These things the soldiers did. John 19:23-24...When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath day, (for that Sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was dead already, they brake not His legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced His side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true that ye might believe. For these things were done that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of Him shall not be broken.  And again anther scripture saith, They shall look on Him whom they pierced. John 19:30-37
